Abstract:Germany’s trade with Southeast Asian countries has in recent years grown rapidly and continuously. Germany has become the largest trading partner of Southeast Asian countries in the EU. It invests not only in traditional industries，but also in renewable energy and environmental protection，where it has technical advantages. Apart from this，cooperation on anti-terrorism，refugee issues and the maintenance of the status quo in the region help to promote political relations between Germany and Southeast Asian countries. Adequately coping with the challenges of the world，Germany’s development of its economic and political relations with Southeast Asian countries is favorable for the exportation of German ideology and ways of global governance.
