2019~2020年老挝发展报告

Abstract:Due to frequent natural disasters and other impacts，the economic growth of Laos in 2019 was only 5%，which showed a significant decline compared with last year. In particular，the decline in foreign trade was significant，which dragged down the overall economic growth. Politically，taking the opportunity of preparing for the eleventh National Congress of Lao People’s Revolutionary Party，senior leading cadres in Laos began to make intensive adjustments，and the work of power supervision and legislation also made positive progress. With the joint development of the destiny of China and Laos，china-Laos relations have been further deepened and traditional friendly relations between Vietnam and Cambodia have been continuously consolidated. The year 2020 will be a crucial year for Laos to implement the ten resolutions of the CPC and prepare for the 11th National Day of the CPC. Laos plans to achieve an economic growth rate of 6.5%. However，due to the sudden impact of COVID-19，its economic growth target may be difficult to achieve.
