Abstract:China electric power faces the pressures of the rise in coal price and operating cost after a few years’continuously rapid growth. So it has to carry out the third linkage of coal and electricity. In order to cope with the pressures from coal industry，electrical enterprises expand to coal industry. However，facing the guide of industrial policy on conservation &emission reduction，electric power industry intensifies structural adjustment. On one hand，it gradually enlarges the installed capacity；on the other hand，it promotes the construction of clean energy，such as hydropower，wind and nuclear power，and so on. Meanwhile，units with high capacity and efficiency become major equipments in the new investment of heat-engine. In general，the development of electric power is in the direction of energy-efficient.
