Abstract:Politically，the new deal of Prime-minister Edi Rama，who won re-election in the second half of 2017，has not been well well-received. Conflicts between the ruling party and the opposition party in the Albanian Parliament have been intensified. The power of the new government is facing challenges. In the first half of 2018，the judicial reform of Albania stepped out of trouble and started to make substantial progress. Several top officials were investigated and prosecuted. The accession talks did not begin as expected. In the second half of 2018，the absolute majority status of the Social Party has been consolidated and the political situation is moving towards stability. But the protests of Albanian students at the end of 2018 have put the government at a risk again. Economically，from 2017 to 2018，the macro-economy is improving，supported by infrastructure construction，energy development，foreign trade and tourism. In terms of international relations and security，Albania continues to intensify security cooperation with the Western Balkans to cope with the Russian and Turkish security threats. The prospect of EU accession of Western Balkans，including Albania，is reaffirmed in the Summit of Sofia and Summit of London. Culturally，the year of 2018 is Albania’s Year of Scanderbeg，under which various commemorative and activities had been organized home and abroad. Regarding the relationship between China and Albania，the Albanian government has launched a visa-free policy from April to October in 2018. Consequently，the number of Chinese tourists in Albania has been visibly increasing. The bilateral economic cooperation，trade and people-to-people exchanges are continuously deepening.
