Abstract:Political parties play an important role in Australian politics.Australian party system，which was built on the model of British party system，is relatively mature after development of more than 100 years.The labour Party and the Liberal-National coalition，the major parties that are in power in turn，and the minor parties with increasing power all have profound influence on Australian politics.The CPC has been maintaining frequent exchanges with several Australian political parties.The relations are gradually mature through the development of several periods and play a positive role in China-Australia relations.This article starts by a brief introduction of Australian political parties，which is followed by an analysis of the features of Australian party politics.Then it elaborates the four periods of the exchanges between the CPC and Australian political parties and demonstrates the important role of party exchanges in China-Australia relations.
